HILLSBORO — It doesn’t seem to matter how Hesston High tennis coach Mark Dahlsten shuffles the deck, it always comes up aces.
Dahlsten changed up his lineup Tuesday for the Hillsboro Invitational, but Swathers still rolled to the championship even though he didn’t use all his top players.
The Swathers won three of the four divisions with 3-0 records — Garrett Roth at No. 2 singles, Gus Williams and Daniel Holthus at No. 1 doubles, and David Geidel-Jorge Morales at No. 2 doubles.
Isaac Penner, playing No. 1 singles, was second with a 2-1 record.
“I am certainly pleased with the team victory,” Dahlsten said. “I thought we were pretty relaxed and played well for the most part. Sometimes it’s easy to lose focus, but I felt that we were able to maintain focus throughout the day.”
There were seven teams in the field. Wichita Trinity was well back in second with 54 points.
