WICHITA — McPherson College’s women’s tennis team won’t be the only one going to nationals.

On Saturday, the Bulldog men finally took down longtime kingpin and regular-season KCAC champion Bethany 5-3 and like the women, will be attending the national tournament next month in Mobile, Ala.

After blanking Friends 5-0 in the semifinals, the Bulldogs got their second shot at the Swedes within the last week. Bethany had won the first meeting 6-3, but just like last week, the Bulldogs started well with two doubles wins in three matches.

However this time, the Bulldogs were much stronger than the previous meeting where the Swedes dominated. Jaime Roman won the deciding match to set off a Bulldog celebration.
