YORK, Neb. — Central Christian College’s baseball team was hoping to reach double digits in victories on Saturday when it ended its regular season with two games against York College.

But the Panthers triumphed twice, leaving the Tigers with a final ledger of 9-45.

York, down 4-1 in the first game, scored four runs in the fourth, only to later fall behind 5-4. But it scored the final seven runs for an 11-5 triumph.

Six Tigers had one hit each. Chase Dean took the loss for Central.

The second game was a pitchers duel, but a run in the second inning turned out to be the difference in a 2-1 York win.

Reynaldo Echenique scored the lone CCC run. Andrew Hightower pitched a terrific game in defeat for the Tigers.
