McPherson College’s baseball team saw its season come to an end here Saturday with two losses to Kansas Wesleyan on Senior Day.

Mac finished the season on a 14-game losing streak and was 2-26 in the KCAC, 8-44 overall. The bright side is that it graduates only two seniors as it was perhaps the KCAC’s most youthful team.

Wesleyan scored in six of seven innings of Game 1 for a 13-5 win. The Bulldogs did generate some excitement with homers by Evan Willow and John Lauts, but the Coyotes blasted five out of the Light Capital Diamond band box.

Ethan Dowling took the loss.

The Bulldogs put together a spirited second game that nearly resulted in an upset. Up 4-1 after four innings, they couldn’t stand the good fortune as the Coyotes roared back with two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, then nailed the coffin shut with four in the seventh for a 9-5 win.

Stephon Miller went yard for the Buldogs, while the Coyotes smashed three more homers. Nathan Crowe took the loss.
