SALINA — Bethany College’s baseball team had to move its crucial games with Friends to Salina on Sunday due to wet field conditions in Lindsborg.

The Swedes apparently forgot to take their bats, as they were blanked twice by scores of 7-0 and 2-0.

But because they received some outside help, the Swedes have advanced to the KCAC Tournament as the fifth and final qualifier.

Bethany was held to four hits total in two games by a Falcon team that actually finished below the Swedes in the KCAC standings. Johel Zea had two of the Bethany hits.

Bethany finished regular-season play 13-15 in the KCAC and 22-27 overall. The Swedes will begin KCAC Tournament play on Wednesday in Great Bend playing Saint Mary at 7 p.m.
