The McPherson City commission approved repairs to minor electrical issues in several City owned facilities on Monday in order to comply with inspection standards enforced by the Kansas Department of Labor.

City administrator Nick Gregory told the commission, "It's been about 10 years since we were inspected. Several months back, the Kansas Department of Labor came in, identified a number of things that needed to be corrected to be up to code in all the City facilities. We've addressed the majority of them. The big outstanding issues have to with having updated codes for ground fault interrupter circuits and some exit signs in some various buildings."

The City Commission approved Johnson Electric to do the compliance work at a cost of $16,200.

The facilities affected are:

McPherson Animal Shelter

McPherson Police Department Storage Shed

McPherson Cemetery Office and Maintenance buildings

Turkey Creek Golf Course

McPherson Fire Department

McPherson Park Department

McPherson Street Department

McPherson Municipal Center
