WICHITA — Hesston High’s boys tennis team, ranked No. 3 in Class 3-2-1A, stepped way up in competition on Saturday.
The Swathers competed in the Wichita Collegiate Tournament of Champions, which gathers all the best teams in Kansas in all classes.
Team scores were not available.
Collin Martin was the bright spot, taking fourth place in singles. He lost in the semifinals to Class 4A’s top player, Tommy Hunter of Hayden. He was 3-2 on the day.
Grant Dahlsten was 14th in singles.
In doubles, Mason Barber and Jorge Morales were 22nd and the team of David Geidel and Kendrick Weaver took 29th.
