Smoky Valley and Canton-Galva have moved to fill their head football coach openings.
Tim Lambert, a one-time Bethany College standout, has been hired at Smoky Valley to replace Chris Hattabaugh.
Lambert has been the head coach at Concordia High School the past six years. Before that, he was the longtime coach at St. Francis High School, guiding that program for 16 years.
He’ll be taking over a Viking team that was 5-5 this past season, making the Class 4A Division II playoffs.
At Canton-Galva, Dustin Patee has been tabbed as Jeff Savage’s replacement. The Eagles were 5-4 in his third and final season.
Patee most recently has been the head coach at Logan High School. He also has coached at St. John-Tipton.
Like Lambert, Patee is a former KCAC player, having played collegiately at Sterling College.
