MOUNDRIDGE — Moundridge’s baseball team ran into a buzzsaw on Tuesday, losing two games to highly regarded Sedgwick.
Game 1 belonged to Cardinal pitcher Connor Freund, who fanned 11 Wildcats in an 11-1 success. Noah Eichelberger and Nick Leddy had singles for MHS. Trenton Olson took the loss.
Sedgwick scored five runs in the seventh inning to break it open.
An eight-run second inning pretty much decided the second game as the Cardinals took both ends of the twinbill with a 16-5 win. The Wildcats actually managed only two hits, singles by Leddy and Luke Ratzlaff. Moundridge did show a good eye with 10 walks, but also struck out 10 times.
Dylan Sugars took the loss.
Moundridge is now 2-10 on the year.
