GREAT BEND — The Bethany College baseball team now has to make its way back through the loser’s bracket of the KCAC Postseason Tournament.
A 4-2 loss to KCAC regular-season champion Tabor sent the Swedes into today’s 3 p.m. elimination game against Sterling.
Dan Eck pitched a fine game in defeat, going seven innings and allowing only two earned runs, while fanning six. Sammuel Ramirez had two hits for Bethany.
“We had one of the best teams in the country on the ropes today,” Bethany coach Andrew Bartman said. “We played a great game and Dan pitched phenomenally against them, but we made far too many mistakes to be able to win. It is a disappointing loss, but we have to forget about it and come back ready to go tomorrow.”
Bethany is now 23-28 on the season.
