A victory over KCAC regular-season champion Bethany College in the conference’s postseason tournament has provided a boost to the McPherson College men’s tennis team, which has climbed to No. 17 in the NAIA national rankings.

That represents a jump of eight spots. It was the largest poll jump of any team.

Mac has six underclassmen among its top eight players, including five freshmen and a sophomore.

The Bulldogs have qualified for the national tournament and will learn on May 5 which team they will play at nationals, scheduled for May 12 in Mobile, Ala.

The Bulldogs have a 16-5 record.

Bethany fell from No. 8 to No. 14. Georgia Gwinnett is No. 1.
