MOUNDRIDGE — Moundridge’s softball team recorded its fifth sweep of the year on Friday, as it’s now 10-6 on the season.
The Wildcats drubbed Bennington 10-0 and 12-0 as the team sparkled in all phases of the game.
In the first game, Emily Knight spaced out five hits over five innings and did not allow a walk, while fanning three.
The Wildcats had only three hits as they took advantage of 10 free passes. Chelsey Knight scored three runs and Brynne Wedel two.
The Wildcats put the ball in play more in Game 2, rapping out nine hits. Michelle Schrag was immense by going 3 for 4, while Wedel, Zaelynn Foth and Emily Knight all drove in two runs.
Elizabeth Ratzlaff threw a dazzling two-hitter, walking just one and fanning three.
The Wildcats play their final two doubleheaders on the road, starting Tuesday at Marion.
