Hett sparks MMS netters

McPherson Middle School’s Riley Hett had an outstanding day at No. 2 singles to lead the Bullpup girls to a third-place finish in their own tournament on Thursday.

Hett was 6-0 to win first place in her division.

Salina Lakewood took first in the team standings, with Salina South and MMS following. There were 10 teams in all.

Jaycee Burghart and Ashley Achilles were 4-2 for third place at No. 1 doubles. The other MHS entries were 3-3 for fourth place, Taylor Bruce at No. 1 singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Daphne Carrillo and Rachel Carlson.
