LINDSBORG — Lyons scored 15 runs in both baseball games against Smoky Valley on Tuesday to sweep the doubleheader.
The Lions were a 15-4 winner in Game 1, but the score was somewhat deceiving. It was a 4-0 game heading into the fifth when Lyons exploded for 11 runs. Smoky Valley answered with four in the bottom of the inning, but needed two more to keep the game going.
Tim Ruble took the loss.
In the second game, it was more late magic for the Lions, who scored 11 runs over the final three innings for a 15-5 victory. Ryan Weldy took the loss.
Smoky Valley is now 3-15 and wraps up the regular season Thursday hosting Hoisington.
