LINDSBORG – Lawrence "Lance" Johnson of Farmington, Mo., is the newest member of the Bethany College men’s cross country team.
Johnson ran at Farmington Senior High School, where he also played football for three seasons. In addition, he was a member of the concert choir which placed at the state competition.
He was a part-time radio engineer at a local radio station, J-98 Country. He also was on the set-up team and an ambassador at his local church.
"Lance will be joining our great institution as an individual student-athlete,” Bethany coach Aaron Yoder said. “Lance has had very diverse experiences as an athlete and will assimilate well into cross country and track. He is a very strong and disciplined young man who will provide a great example to growing team. I'm very excited to see Lance develop as a Swede.”
Johnson is the son of Eugena Dunn. He plans to major in communications.
