MOBILE, Ala. — Bethany College’s men’s tennis team joined McPherson College on the sidelines during the second round of the NAIA Championships on Wednesday.

After McPherson College was defeated 5-0 by No. 1-ranked Gwinnett College of Georgia, the Swedes also fell 5-0 to No. 3-ranked Vanguard University of California.

Still, it was a great year for both teams. Bethany was the KCAC regular-season champion and McPherson College was the KCAC Tournament champion.

Both teams were led by first-year head coaches, Justin Stuckey for McPherson College and Tony Swiantek for Bethany College. Both coaches return most of their top players next year, so another trip to nationals could be in the cards.
