The McPherson College Summer Basketball Camp for youths, under the guidance of Bulldog men’s coach Tim Swartzendruber, will be offering something probably no other camp in Kansas does this summer.
A new dimension has been added to next month’s camp at the Sport Center. It’s the inclusion of a Sport Psychologist on the camp staff working with each camper on the mental aspects of playing a sport. Along with the fundamentals, contests and games, the addition of this specialist gives the 2015 McPherson College Basketball Camp a unique and innovative feature.
The camp will be held June 8-11 in the Sport Center from 9 to 11 a.m. daily. Any boy or girl who will be in grades 2-8 in the fall of 2015 is eligible to attend.
“Sport Psychology has become a huge piece of college and professional team programs,” Swartzendruber said. “We are fortunate to have someone who will work with these youth and make it age-specific. I certainly believe it will be beneficial to all to attend.”
Camp brochures are available on the McPherson College website, macbulldogs.com, or persons may contact Swartzendruber at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline to sign up is May 29.
