MOUNDRIDGE — Canton-Galva’s baseball season came to a heart-breaking conclusion on Thursday with a 5-4 semifinal loss to eventual Class 2-1A regional champion Inman.
The Eagles tied the game at 3-all with a run in the top of the fourth, but Inman scored twice in the bottom of the inning before holding on.
Walks were the story of the game as C-G pitchers issued 12 free passes.
“We only allowed three hits and four of the runners that scored were given a free base,” a disappointed C-G coach Kelly Nelson said.
Nick Bray had a double and single, good for two RBIs, to lead Canton-Galva. Tanner Klingensmith started and Connor Farnham came on in relief.
