DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethany College’s golf team lived to play one more day.
The Swedes qualified for the fourth and final day of the NAIA Championships on Thursday, as they entered today’s final round in 16th place.
The Swedes’ Jose Acevedo is even-par for 54 holes and entered today tied for 13th individually. He had his second straight 71 on Thursday after opening with a 74.
Bethany shot 298 as a team Thursday after rounds of 306 and 293.
Josh Meeks had his best round with a 73, after opening with a pair of 81s. Ben Johnson shot a 74 for his third round after a 77 and 72, while other Bethany scores were Josef Loughlin (80) and Olly Rubenstein (83). Rubenstein had fired a 69 during his second round.
Today’s round is the last for BC coach Jon Daniels, who is retiring after the tournament.
Coastal Georgia was 10-under-par for the three-round team lead. It is in great shape as it took a 16-stroke lead into today’s round.
