McPherson High’s girls soccer team advanced to the Class 4-1A Final Four with a 1-0 victory here tonight over longtime nemesis Wichita Trinity Academy.

Jessie Kynaston’s first-half goal proved to be the difference, as the Bullpup defense made it stand up from there. It will be MHS’ first Final Four appearance in 13 years. Trinity had knocked the Bullpups out of the postseason twice in the last four years.

MHS, now 14-3-1, will play DeSoto in the Class 4-1A semifinals on Friday at McPherson Stadium. Private school powers Miege and Topeka Hayden meet in the other semi.

More on this game will be posted later.
