McPherson College’s softball team may not have had a great record on the field, but its record in the classroom was exemplary.
Five Bulldogs have been named as 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes. They include Hailey Beckett, Amanda Darrow, Emily Davis, Simone Donaldson and Cassandra Moreno.
"This group of scholar-athletes have set the bar for our team," Mac coach Ashley Spencer said. "They know what it takes to accomplish success both in the classroom and on the field. I am excited for their positive leadership to continue next year."
Beckett is the lone senior. Darrow, Davis, Donaldson and Moreno will be back next season.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
