LINDSBORG — Bethany College men’s soccer coach Shane Taylor is spanning the globe to improve his team for the 2015 season.

Alexander Clark, from Auckland, New Zealand, has agreed to travel halfway around the world to play for the Swedes.

He’s a 6-1 center-midfielder who has played at Saint Kentigern College. In 2015, Clark was an Ellerslie AFC first-team player. He was third in the New Zealand Secondary School national competition and was a Saint Kentigern College first-team player.

In 2013, he was a Saint Kentigern College first-team player as well as a New Zealand Secondary Schools National Champion. In 2012, Clark was the Saint Kentigern College U16 first-team player, captain and Player of the Year.

Clark also has played cricket from 2005-2012 and tennis from 2009-2013.

"We are extremely pleased to have Alex joining our soccer program and college," Taylor said. "It was evident from the first time we watched Alex play that he would be a welcomed addition to our squad."

He is the son of Stanley and Elizabeth Clark. He has a 3.33 grade point average and plans to major in marketing.
