Lackey ties for 4th at Hesston

HESSTON — McPherson’s Jacob Lackey tied for fourth place Tuesday during the Hesston Junior Optimist Open Golf Tournament at the Hesston Golf Park.

Lackey, the AVCTL Division III champion and a junior-to-be at MHS, shot a 77.

Class 2A state champion Brooks Brown, who played for Salina Sacred Heart, shot a 2-under-par 69 to win medalist honors by five strokes.

Three Buhler golfers were one stroke behind Lackey, including Class 4A champion Mac McNish. The others were Dylan Schmitt and Ryan Burr.
