LINDSBORG — Jaylen Thomas will be coming all the way from Indiana to play soccer for Bethany College this fall.

The Evansville native recently signed a letter of intent with the Swedes.

Thomas is a 5-9 midfielder-forward who played at Benjamin Bosse High School. As a senior, he totaled 12 goals and 7 assists.

He was selected first-team All-City, first-team All-SIAC, first-team All-Metro and made the Team Player List for District 6. He also was Player of the Year runner-up and earned SIAC Player of the Year honors for his high school.

Thomas also played one year of basketball and football (as a place-kicker). He was named Academic All-City for both football and soccer.

"We are really happy to have Jaylen become a Swede," Bethany coach Shane Taylor said. "He brings outstanding athleticism and a terrific attitude to our program. We are looking forward to his contributions on and off the field."

He is the son of Amanda and Anthony Thomas. He carried a 3.83 grade point average in high school and plans to major in accounting.
