Gas prices in Kansas are stabilizing after ticking up nearly seven cents in the last week.

The average price of gas now around the state is $2.57 a gallon for regular unleaded. That's up from $2.50 a week ago, but still well below the national average of $2.76.

A year ago, prices were nearly $3.50 a gallon.

Gas prices in McPherson are right around $2.45 a gallon.
