McPherson's Jacob Lackey finished 15-over-par in the 56thBoys Junior Amateur Championships Thursday at Wellington Golf Club, taking fifth in the 16-year-old division and tying for 26thoverall.
Lackey shot an 80 in Thursday's final round, notching 40s on both halves of the course. He shot par on eight holes and birdied on a par-4 14thhole. For the three days, Lackey shot a total of 225.
Wells Padgett of Wichita took first in the 16 age group, as he finished with a total score of 214. Eric Pahls of Kansas City was second with a 218.
Topeka's Lukas McCalla finished 1-under to take top honors overall with a 209. Manhattan's Dillon Cole was one stroke behind for second, while Kale Reynolds of Wichita was third at 213.
