After a lengthy delay due to rainy weather, Kansas farmers are finally able to get in their fields.
John Woodworth with Team Marketing Alliance in Moundridge said Saturday was a huge day, with another anticipated Monday.
“Moundridge had a 100,000 plus day Saturday and up there along U.S. Highway 56,” Woodworth said. “[Monday] should just be a huge day.”
Jordan Hildebrand with industry group Kansas Wheat said the numbers they have seen are looking strong.
“Test weights have ranged from 55-61 pounds per bushel. Yields have been a bit varied, but are higher than anticipations from earlier in the growing season,” Hildebrand said in a report atwww.kswheat.com.
You can hear daily harvest reports from Woodworth Monday through Friday at noon and 5 p.m. on McPherson's Radio Station.
