TOPEKA — The Stealth 16U softball team, which includes McPherson High’s Bailea Crist, took third place in the Father’s Day NIT over the weekend.

Crist has been displaying her versatility this summer by playing the outfield, first base and pitching. She added catching to her duties on Sunday, as she picked off two runners in a victory over Lawrence.

The Stealth, which won its pool with a 2-0 record before advancing to bracket play, appeared headed for the championship game, but lost to the Nebraska Red Hots 7-6 in the semifinals. The Red Hots were down to their final out before staging a rally, leaving the Stealth at 3-2 for the weekend.

The Stealth plays in Independence, Mo., this weekend.
