LINDSBORG — It continues to be non-stop recruiting for Bethany College men’s basketball coach Clair Oleen.
Anthony Oliver, from Killeen, Texas, is the latest player to commit to Oleen’s Swedes.
He is a 6-1 guard who played at Killeen High School, where he was a two-year starter. He earned honorable mention honors and was an Academic All-District member.
Oliver scored 12 points per game, and averaged five rebounds and five assists. He shot better than 50 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line.
In track, he was a regional qualifier. Away from sports, Oliver was a Student of the Month and received the distinguished academic award.
"We are pleased to have Anthony Oliver choose to continue his education and basketball career at Bethany College” Oleen said. “Anthony comes to us from Killeen High School in Texas where he was under the tutelage of coach Reginald Huggins. Anthony is an athletic combo guard who can really explode to the rim. We look forward to his growth and development as a player here at Bethany."
Anthony is the son of Pessy Castillo. He had a 3.2 high school grade point average and plans to major in personal health and wellness, with an emphasis in coaching.
