A McPherson man was injured in an accident this morning on Interstate Highway 70 in Dickinson County after striking a sheriff's vehicle that was working another accident scene.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Thomas Anderson, 79, of McPherson, was eastbound on I-70 when he failed to yield to emergency vehicles working an accident just east of state highway K-43.

Anderson's 2008 Ford Econoline struck the Sheriff's vehicle and rolled into the south ditch.

He was transported to Geary Community Hospital in Junction City with undisclosed injuries. No one was in the sheriff's vehicle at the time.

The initial accident occurred just before 7 a.m. at that same location when a westbound vehicle crossed the median and into the eastbound lanes of I-70.

Two Tennessee women were transported to Geary Community Hospital.
