HUTCHINSON — McPherson’s 18U Lady Express suffered its first two defeats of the season during the Summer Softball Showcase this past weekend at Fun Valley.

McPherson’s winning streak was snapped at 14 when it lost in the first round to Elite Softball 16, 12-9. The team, however, rebounded to win five of its last six to stand 19-2 on the season.

A summary:

• Elite Softball 16 12, Express 9 — McPherson couldn’t hang on to a 7-4 lead as the Elite tallied six times in the fourth for the win. Six errors contributed to the team’s first loss of the year. Jasmine Wann homered and doubled, driving in six runs. Madison Hoffman took the loss.
