MHS' Crist plays on title team

KANSAS CITY — The Stealth U-16 softball team, which includes McPherson High sophomore Bailea Crist, took first place in the U-18 Adair Summer Finale this past weekend.

The team started 1-2, going 1-1 in pool play and then lost its first bracket game.

The Stealth then mounted a comeback. Down 9-2 in its first game on Sunday against the Lasers, it scored eight runs in the final inning for a stunning 10-9 win.

It road that wave for 9 hours, winning five straight games. The wins were 9-1 over the Tipton Tigers, 12-0 over the Missouri Canes Orange, 8-5 over the Smithville Sting and 7-6 over the Central Nitro to force a second championship game. The Stealth won that game 5-0 to claim the championship.
