Areas of McPherson County will be undergoing road maintenance over the next week.
The 16thAvenue project continues between Moccasin and Mohawk Roads, though county Public Works director Tom Kramer told McPherson County Commissioners during this week's meeting he anticipates phase one of the project, the first base of asphalt, will be complete near the end of this week.
Kramer said that area should be reopened then, with the speed limit to set at 45 MPH at the section of 16thAvenue in deference to the number of residential driveways.
The second base of asphalt will be laid next year.
Also remaining closed is Second Avenue between Smoky Valley Road and Sioux Road for a bridge repair. Smoky Valley between 24thAvenue and Interstate Highway 135 will be undergoing stabilization and asphalt paving.
