Teeter, Lackey lead TC to Ping title

WICHITA — The Ping Junior Golf Tour, a series of tournaments that includes five teams consisting mostly of high school players, kicked off on Wednesday with Turkey Creek taking first place at Crestview Country Club, which just hosted theWeb.com’s  Air Capitol Classic this past weekend.

McPherson was bolstered by seventh-grader-to-be Dylan Teeter, who tied with Hesston’s Grant Brenneman for second medalist with a 79. McPherson’s Jacob Lackey was fourth with an 80.

Also for The Creek, CJ Steiner shot 83, one better than Casey Cheek. Colton Geren rounded out the scores with 113.

Crestview’s Cooper Schultz was medalist with a 77.
