Two men connected with the owners of the Route 56 Express in McPherson had appearances in U.S. District Court Wednesday.

Kelpeshkumar Patel, also known as Mehesh Patel and Bobby Patel, was remanded to custody pending his preliminary hearing on Wednesday, where he will face charges on being in the United States illegally.

Also appearing in U.S. District Court was Sumanbhai Prajapati, who was also arrested during the raid on Route 56 June 23 but was not listed on the initial indictment. He is also facing a charge of being in the United States illegally, though he was allowed to post a $1,000 bond.

Prajapati will return to court July 29 for a status conference.
