Lackey, Teeter lead TC golfers to title

HESSTON — Turkey Creek’s junior golf team made it two-for-two as the Junior Ping Tournament swing continued on Wednesday at Hesston Golf Park.

Turkey Creek rode co-medalists Jacob Lackey and Dylan Teeter to the championship as both shot 4-over-par 75s. The local team had won the first leg of Ping swing recently at Wichita.

Under the scoring format used, Turkey Creek was credited with 234 points, while Crestview of Wichita was second with 222 1/2. Other totals were Hesston (132), Crestview No. 2 (92 1/2) and Fox Ridge of Newton (43).

Hesston’s Grant Brenneman just missed on making it a three-way tie at the top with a 76.

Other McPherson scores were Casey Cheek (80), CJ Steiner (86) and Colton Geren (101).

Also for Hesston, Tanner Pauls was second with a 79, while other scores were Tanner DeGrado (102), Jacob Eilert (103) and Kit Kingsley (104).

Fox Ridge will be the site of the next tourney.
