WICHITA — McPherson’s Treg Fawl is scheduled to tee off this morning in the first round of match play in the Kansas Amateur Golf Tournament at Wichita Country Club.

Fawl, who had opened with a 76 on Tuesday, qualified for match play after his round of 2-under-par 69 on Wednesday. His two-day total of 145 easily made the cut line, which was 148.

Fawl is the 36th seed in the 64-man field. He is scheduled to play No. 29 Andrew Beckler of Topeka, with tee time at 9 a.m.

If he wins, he goes up against the winner of Jeff Bell of Wichita and Tavin Dugan of Holton at 8:10 a.m. on Friday. Bell is the No. 4 seed after shooting rounds of 69-68.

Two rounds of matches are scheduled for Thursday. Sam Stevens of Wichita, playing on the course he grew up on, is the No. 1 seed after shooting rounds of 65-66, four shots clear of Conrad Roberts of Lawrence and Matt Green of Lenexa.
