It was the round that Jacob Lackey had been hoping for all summer.
Lackey blistered Turkey Creek for a 1-under-par 69 on Sunday in the final session of the Junior Ping Interclub Golf Series. Behind Lackey, McPherson completed a sweep of the five tournaments.
Lackey shot rounds of 34-35, with birdies on Nos. 7, 8 and 11 and just two bogeys. He won the event by a whopping eight strokes in the brutally hot conditions.
The tournament also cemented a 1-2 finish for Turkey Creek in the race for Player of the Year as Dylan Teeter totaled 340 points and Lackey finished with 330. Rounding out the Top 5 were Patrick Chan of Wichita Crestview, Tanner Pauls of Hesston and Spencer McCormick of Crestview.
Teeter shot an 83 on Sunday. Other McPherson scores were CJ Steiner (89), Michael Smith (99) and Tommy Smith (105).
