McPherson City Commissioners Monday accepted the resignation of Code Enforcement Officer Edye Leslie.

Commissioner Larry Weins read the letter of resignation following an executive session on Leslie's behalf.

“I appreciate the opportunity of working for this wonderful community,” Leslie wrote. “I have been offered and accepted a position with the State of Kansas Corporation Commission in Topeka, Kansas.”

Leslie's resignation was accepted unanimously. It takes effect August 13.

The City will look for a replacement effective immediately.
