MHS' Brown named top 4A coach by KTCA

McPherson High boys tennis coach Tyler Brown has been named Class 4A Coach of the Year by the Kansas Tennis Coaches Association.

Brown guided the Bullpups to the Class 4A state title with a team that included three freshmen. The doubles team of senior Gallagher Martin and freshman Nolan Schrader defeated teammates Luke Williams and Kento Aizawa in the doubles finals. Williams was a senior and Aizawa a junior.

In singles, freshmen Andrew Snell and Kaden Stewart finished fourth and ninth in the state, respectively.

Hesston’s Mark Dahlsten, who led Hesston’s boys to the Class 3-2-1A state championship, was named the overall Coach of the Year.
