The McPherson Public Library will be hosting a marathon Friday that requires no training, no sweat and no sore muscles.
The annual reading marathon, part of the summer reading program, will start at 9 a.m. Friday and go until 8 p.m.
“Over 100 people participated last year, including all our service desk staff,” Jennie Hall, Head of Adult Services at the library, said. “Some of us shared book titles and favorite authors and it was great to see the library filled with people reading from the time we opened the doors till we locked up at night.”
Participants are encouraged to bring a book, find a comfy chair and curl up and read. You can sign up for a 30 minute block ahead of time, though the library will does say you can also just show up at anytime during the day.
