WICHITA — McPherson’s Jacob Lackey wound up in a tie for second place in the South Central PGA Players Tour Junior Tournament on Tuesday.

Lackey, who had opened with a 74 on Monday at Terradyne Country Club, was one shot better on Tuesday with his 2-over-par 73. His 147 put him in a three-way playoff with Said Powers of Edmond, Okla., and Jack Glenn of Stillwater, Okla, for first place.

All three players parred the first two holes before Powers poured in a 50-foot birdie putt on the third hole. Lackey’s birdie chip came up 5 feet short, while Glenn had a birdie putt that did not go in.

Lackey will be a junior for the MHS golf team next spring.
