Two former McPherson High baseball standouts will be taking the field this week in the National Baseball Congress Tournament at Wichita’s Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Aaron Marshall, who has earned numerous honors during his career at Ottawa University, is playing for Valley Center, which makes its debut at 10 p.m. Friday against Lake Erie, Mich.

Alex Ruxlow, who just completed a solid freshman season at Hutchinson Community College, is pitching for the Hutchinson Monarchs. Their first game is a rise-and-shiner at 8 a.m. Saturday against St. Joseph, Mo.

The tournament currently is in its second week and continues through next week.
