Turkey Creek still in 2nd in I-135 Cup

Turkey Creek’s golf team was hoping to make a big move in the annual I-135 Cup when it hosted the second leg of the series on Sunday.

But it’s Salina Muni at the top of the leaderboard, while Turkey Creek held steady with its second-straight 7-point day.

The Muni, which has never won the Cup, scored 9 points Sunday to up its total to 16 1/2, while Turkey Creek is 1 1/2 back with its 14.

Meanwhile, current Cup holder Hesston scored only 5 points and finds itself 5 back of the leader. However, Hesston gets its chance to host on Aug. 23.
