MCPHERSON COUNTY -- A rural Marquette woman died following a one-vehicle accident just north of U.S. Highway 56 Friday morning.

McPherson County Sheriff's Detective Doug Anderson says that Judith Stout, 62, was northbound on Fifth Avenue four-and-a-half miles north of U.S. 56 in a 2009 Chevy Lumina when she left the roadway just after 11:30 a.m.

“The Lumina drove into a concrete bridge railing and Stout was pronounced dead at the scene,” Anderson said. “She was the only occupant of the vehicle.”

Anderson says there were no indications at the scene as to what caused Stout to leave the road and hit the bridge railing. An autopsy was ordered to help determine any health factors may have contributed to the crash.

Aside from sheriff's deputies, Marquette and McPherson firefighters and EMS personnel also responded to the scene of the crash.
