Baseball Bulldogs pound out sweep Sunday in Oklahoma

GOODWELL, Okla. — It was 10 to win for the McPherson College baseball team on Sunday.

The Bulldogs scored 10 runs in both games of a road doubleheader with Panhandle State, winning 10-0 and 10-6 to improve to 8-2 on the season.

• Mac 10, Panhandle 0 — Staff ace Matthew Green was nails, twirling a three-hitter, not walking any and fanning seven in the route-going effort.

Evan Willow had the big hit with a homer and also had two singles, good for four RBIs.   Jackson Goodmiller was on fire by going 4 for 5, including three doubles. Mark Strebin and Lane Fleming added two hits, one of Fleming’s being a double.

• Mac 10, Panhandle 6 — Goodmiller and Willow were again amazing. Goodmiller was 4 for 5 with 4 runs scored and stroked two more doubles. Willow hit another homer, along with two singles and drove in 5 runs. Fleming was 3 for 5 and Dylan Fontenot got into the act with a homer, single and three RBIs.

Mac was down 3-1 going into the fourth when it scored five times, then added three runs in the fifth.

Brett Carter, the second of three pitchers, was credited with the victory.
