11U Reds win another championship

SALINA — The McPherson 11U Reds stormed through another baseball tournament undefeated, this time going 5-0 in the Leonard Cyre Memorial Invitational this past weekend.

There were 14 teams in the tourney and the Reds finished 5-0. They are now an amazing 17-1 on the season.

• Reds 5, Salina Warriors 1 — Hayden Hoxie went five innings and scattered six hits to pick up the win, with Brenden Doile finishing up. Doile and Clark Felvus had two hits apiece. Brock Richardson laced a triple.

• Reds 10, Hays Larks 1 — Jase Fitzmorris fired a two-hitter in going the distance. He also hit a triple and single to help the cause. Carter Allen collected two hits as well.

• Reds 10, Wichita Heat 4 — Doile got the win with three innings of work, with Ian Razak throwing the final inning. Allen had three hits, including a double, and Richardson had a triple and double. Felvus contributed a double and single, and Ty Romero furnished two hits as the team had 11 for the game.

• Reds 8, Salina Spikes 5 — Fitzmorris was 3 for 3 to pace the offense while Hoxie drove in two runs. Razak took the win, with Allen pitching in relief.

• Reds 8, Clay Center 4 — Richardson led the offense with two hits and Doile had a double. Allen, Fitzmorris and Doile all took turns on the mound.
