SALINA — Bethany College’s women’s soccer team put a scare into No. 1-seed Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday in the semifinals of the KCAC Postseason Tournament.
The Coyotes’ Michelle Pena scored 16 minutes into the game, but the defenses took over from there and that single goal stood up in a 1-0 victory.
Destinee Wells had 5 saves in goal for the Swedes, who finished 12-6-2.
Oklahoma Wesleyan went on the road to upset Ottawa 4-1 on Tuesday in the other semi. The Eagles will head to 23rd-ranked Kansas Wesleyan on Friday for the championship.
