NEWTON — McPherson High’s Scott Radke was named Homecoming King on Friday — and he wasn’t even there to be crowned.

That’s because he was too busy wrestling at the Newton Tournament of Champions, where he made the finals of the 160-pound class.

The undefeated Radke will wrestle Saturday for the title. When you make the finals of this tournament, it’s like making the state finals.

MHS’ Rhett Edmonson had entered the day undefeated, but lost in the semifinals.

The Bullpups are in eighth place, which is the upper 25 percent. They have every single competitor still alive on Saturday.
