Hesston thinclads shine at Wichita State

WICHITA — Hesston’s track and field team turned in some superb performances during the Shocker Pre-State Meet on Thursday and Friday at Cessna Stadium.

Hesston competed in the 3-2-1A division and also had some athletes who competed in the Elite Division.

The girls’ 4 x 100 relay team of Marisa Vogt, Emily Koehn, Caryn Yoder and Elise Kaiser took first and their time of 4:16.29 would have won the 6-5-4A division and placed fifth in the Elite Division.

Celbi Richardson won the discus and had the eighth-best throw of anybody in any class. Yoder had a second in the 200 and third in the 100. Kaiser added a third in the 400. For the boys, Nicholas Arnold was third in the 110 hurdles.
